About
Role
Graphic Designer
Within a short space of time I worked on two projects both to do with Scottish-Ghanaian artist Maud Sulter (1960 – 2008). Who grew up in the Gorbals, Glasgow, and her work spanned across writing, image-making, curating, filmmaking, and sound.
These projects reflect on her legacy and influence to other artists of colour, and people all over in Scotland.
The Short Film Projects
Maud
maud. (2022) demands answers as to why Sulter’s legacy and impact has been so well-hidden from the wider Scottish artistic landscape. Released fourteen years after her death, the film explores the politics of memory and how this intersects with art; who do we celebrate and who goes largely unrecognised?
This publication is a transcript accompanyment to the short film. Four Black artists currently making art in Scotland – Adebusola Ramsay, Sekai Machache, Zoë Zo, Zoë Tumika & Zoë Guthrie and Camara Taylor – discuss how learning about Maud Sulter has affected them and their practice.

Passions
PASSIONS publication brings together the contributions of nine Black artist-curators-makers based in Scotland or who have connections to Scotland, as they revisit and respond to Sulter’s seminal publication Passion; Discourses on Blackwomen’s Creativity (1990).
